The Glencoe Room

Our ground-floor, dog-friendly bedroom perfect for travelling with dogs. The Glencoe Room is on the ground floor, making it ideal for early morning and late-night dog walks. It's a spacious, light-filled room with a king-size bed, walk-in closet, and views across the front field towards Ben Nevis.

The large en-suite has underfloor heating, a walk-in shower, and plenty of space to dry off after a rainy Highland walk. Ground-floor access also makes it ideal for guests with mobility needs.

The remaining four bedrooms are kept dog-free for guests with allergies so everyone in your group is comfortable.

How many dogs can I bring to Highwinds Lodge?
We welcome up to three well-behaved dogs per booking. If you have more than two, please get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Which bedroom is dog-friendly?
Dogs stay in the ground-floor Glencoe Room. It has a king-size bed, walk-in closet, and a large en-suite with underfloor heating. The remaining four bedrooms are kept dog-free for guests with allergies.
Is the garden secure for dogs?
Yes. The grounds are fully fenced and gated, so your dog can explore safely off-lead while you relax. There's plenty of space for a good run around.
Are dogs allowed in all areas of the lodge?
Dogs are welcome in the communal living areas, kitchen, and hallways. We just ask that they stay off the furniture and not allowed upstairs, which is kept dog-free for guests with allergies.
What dog amenities do you provide?
We provide dog bowls, towels for drying off after walks, and treats on arrival. There's a boot room for muddy paws and wet gear, and a hose-down area outside. If you need a dog bed, just let us know when booking.
Are there walks nearby?
Absolutely, plenty straight from the door. Glen Nevis is also less than 10 minutes away, with miles of riverside paths, forest trails, and mountain walks. The Great Glen Way towpath is flat and easy, and Cow Hill gives spectacular views over Fort William and Loch Linnhe.
What about dog-friendly restaurants?
